What is a ‘print template’?
A print template is a finished file or document that has been prepared in such a way that it can be used directly for printing – without having to change or adapt anything.

Typical features of a print template:

• Correct dimensions (e.g. final format plus bleed)
• High resolution (usually 300 dpi for images)
• Correct colour profiles (e.g. CMYK instead of RGB)
• Embedded fonts or fonts converted to paths
• Safety margins (important elements not too close to the edge)
• No open file formats (usually PDF/X)
